Back-to-School 2024: School nutrition in Gwinnett schools for 2024-2025

     Gwinnett County Public Schools’ (GCPS) award-winning School Nutrition Program (SNP) provides tasty, nutritious meals to students at an economical price. GCPS cafeterias serve many of the brands families use at home, including Tyson, General Mills, Kellogg’s, and Land O’ Lakes, to name a few. In addition, students are served a variety of fruits and vegetables through Gwinnett’s Farm to School program, which has been in place since the 2010-11 school year. 

     In all, 135 school cafeterias will offer breakfast and lunch daily. Students and parents can check out menus using an app—search for “NutriSlice” on Google Play or the App Store—or they can find menus online at https://gwinnett.nutrislice.com/menus-eula.

Student lunch (elementary)	$2.50
Student lunch (middle and high)	$2.75
Student lunch (reduced)	$0.40
Adult breakfast	$2.50

What do students and families need to know about school meals this year?

 

Breakfast 

• Title I schools – all students will receive breakfast at no charge 

• Non-Title I schools – Free and Reduced-Price students will receive breakfast at no charge. Students with Full Pay eligibility will be charged $1.75 

 

Lunch 

• All Free and Reduced-Price students will receive lunch at no charge. Students with Full Pay eligibility will be charged according to the meal prices. 

• Prices for lunch are as follows:  Reduced - $0.40; ES Lunch - $2.50; MS/HS Lunch - $2.75 

Families should complete the free/reduced-price meal application as soon as possible.

• Wheat Crackers with Salads (All levels) 

• Variety of Subs, Sandwiches, and Wraps (All levels) 

• New veggie sides such as Parmesan Carrot Fries & Charro Beans (All levels) 

• Buttermilk Brined Pulled Chicken (High School only) 

• Brunch for Lunch French Toast Bites with Chicken Sausage (All levels) 

 

New Smart Snack Compliant Ala Carte items available for purchase at the local schools:

• Doritos Reduced Fat Tortilla Chips 

• Whole Grain-Rich Chocolate Chip Rice Krispies Treats 

• Smartfood White Cheddar Popcorn 

• Whole Grain-Rich Goldfish 

• Whole Grain-Rich Sugar Cookie 

• Whole Grain-Rich Double Chocolate Brownie 

 

2023-2024 Program Accomplishments: 

• Average health inspection score of 99.05 

• Served 29.7 million student meals 

  • 9.9 million breakfast meals 

  • 19.8 million lunch meals  

 

2023-2024 Farm-to-School Highlights:

• Served over 1.4 M pounds of regionally grown produce
