How do I apply for substitute positions with Gwinnett County Public Schools?

I submitted a substitute application, but have not yet heard back. Who should I contact?
Once your substitute application is completed, you will be contacted by the Substitute Management Office regarding next steps. You may also e-mail the Substitute Management Office for assistance at substitutes@gcpsk12.org.
Now that I have attended Substitute Teacher Orientation, what is the next step?
Your approval letter will be e-mailed within approximately 3 business days once we receive employee clearance for hire. Once you receive your approval letter, you are eligible to start substituting in the district.
How can I change my contact information (i.e. name, address, telephone number)?
Please log into the employee portal. Go to the about me tab and update your contact information.
How can I change my email address?
Substitutes are not able to change their email address on the employee portal. To update your email address, please send an email requesting the change to substitutes@gcpsk12.org. Please include your employee number in your email.
When can I expect to receive my paycheck?
Substitutes are paid monthly on the last business day of the month. Please click here to access the Substitute Payroll Schedule.
Am I allowed to substitute teach if I am completing my student teaching?
Student teachers must receive approval from their college or university before completing an application and becoming a substitute teacher for GCPS.
