Four Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) students have been named 2024 Georgia Scholars by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE). Brookwood High School’s Vanessa Ching and Vinh Pham, McClure Health Science High School’s Afeefa Anwer, and North Gwinnett High School’s Margaret Robinson are among a select group of 177 graduating seniors across Georgia to receive the honor. Each honoree receives a seal for their diploma upon graduation. The Georgia Scholars program identifies and honors high school seniors who have achieved excellence in school and community life.

“Congratulations to these fantastic students,” GCPS Superintendent Dr. Calvin J. Watts shares. “It is so exciting to see our students recognized at the state level for achieving excellence in their school and community. This recognition is a testament to their years of hard and heart work, and Team GCPS is so proud of them. I cannot wait to see how they will continue to be great after graduation, and I look forward to their continued contributions to our Gwinnett community for many years to come.”

Georgia Scholars carried exemplary course loads during their four years of high school, performed excellently in all courses, successfully participated in interscholastic events within their schools and communities, and assumed leadership roles in extracurricular activities sponsored by their schools.
