Gwinnett County Public Schools' (GCPS) focus on teaching and learning is building a community of prepared leaders. GCPS is committed to this effort, and we offer students the opportunity to gain unique learning experiences through our Special Schools. Registration dates and informational meetings are listed for each school, and the school’s website has further details about registration and enrollment or lottery processes.
Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology (GSMST)
GSMST accepts all qualified, eligible students as chosen by random lottery. Students who are currently in 8th grade during the 2023-2024 academic year will be able to begin the lottery registration process starting Wednesday, November 1, 2023.
The lottery drawing will take place on Tuesday, January 30, 2024.
Three Informational Meetings are scheduled to provide information to 8th grade students and families interested in attending GSMST. All meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Cafeteria at GSMST, and the information presented will be the same at all three meetings.

- Tuesday, February 20, 2024: Open House 5:00-7:00 p.m.
- In late February, the Maxwell Program Application (located on My eCLASS through the student portal) will temporarily close in preparation for the lottery in early March. The application will then reopen for programs with availability.
- Students will be notified via their GCPS email address of their placement for next year once the lottery has ended.
Grayson Technical Education Program

New Life Academy of Excellence
Please follow the steps indicated below to apply at New Life Academy of Excellence. Please note that a Parent/Guardian of the student should submit the application.
- Online applications will be available during open enrollment (December 4, 2023 - January 31, 2024). Applications received after the Open Enrollment period will automatically be placed on a waiting list, and you will be contacted upon space availability.
- Re-Enrollment: November 1, 2023 - December 15, 2023
- Public Lottery: February 7, 2024, or selected GCPS Date
- The application process does not guarantee enrollment. We don't accept students on a first come, first serve basis.
- Acceptance is solely based on the availability of seats in our program.

School of the Arts at Central Gwinnett High School
School of the Arts (SOTA) at Central Gwinnett High School is accepting applications from students with a passion for the arts. Current Gwinnett County Public Schools 8th grade students may apply for the SOTA Conservatory Program (audition/portfolio required) and for the SOTA Fellows Program (no admissions criteria).
Students who will be in grades 10-12 next school year may apply; however, the number of spots will be subject to availability and will vary by Conservatory. (Transportation for Central Gwinnett Cluster students is provided. Students from other clusters must be eligible for permissive transfer and provide their own transportation.) The deadline to apply for the Conservatory is November 26. Applicants will be notified of their audition date and time by December 8.
