Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) is hosting the FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC) on March 18-19 at Discovery High School, a first for GCPS and Gwinnett County. This thrilling opportunity will allow the community to see some of the best robotics teams in the state and from around the world compete in our backyard. The fast-paced and exciting competition will showcase some of the most promising STEM talent from GCPS high schools as students put their skills to the test with their original robot designs. This year’s FRC energy-focused challenge is “Charged Up,” which requires students to design, build, program, and strategize their larger-than-life robotic solutions from the ground up. Featuring both autonomous and driver challenges, you’ll be amazed by the creations of the 20+ teams in action.
The best FRC experiences are built on a partnership between education and the local business community. FRC is an authentic workforce development opportunity for businesses to invest and recruit our next generation of employees and for students to understand the amazing career opportunities that are available in their own communities. When we partner together, we ensure the Gwinnett County workforce keeps talent local and continues to thrive.
The competition is open to spectators from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 18-19. This event provides a great way for the community to learn more about FRC and witness a showcase of the amazing STEM learning happening in GCPS.
