Six Gwinnett County public schools have been named 2020-21 “Reward Schools” by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE). Reward Schools are Title I schools making the most progress in improving student performance. The following Gwinnett schools are among the 157 from around the state that made the list.
- Baggett Elementary School
- Corley Elementary School
- Lawrenceville Elementary School
- Lilburn Elementary School
- Peachtree Elementary School
- Sweetwater Middle School
A “Reward School” is among the five percent of Title I schools in the state that is making the most progress in improving the performance of all students over the most recent two years on the statewide assessments. As there were no assessments administered in the 2019-20 school year, this year’s list is based on 2018-19 and 2019-20 data.
In addition, five Gwinnett County public schools earned honors as 2020-21 Title I “Distinguished Schools.” Schools earning the “Distinguished” designation are among the top five percent of all Title I schools in Georgia, reflecting those Title I schools with the highest performance on assessments administered in spring of 2019. Gwinnett’s honored schools are:
- Berkeley Lake Elementary School
- Harris Elementary School
- Knight Elementary School
- McKendree Elementary School
- Partee Elementary School
