Gwinnett County Public Schools

At a called meeting on June 6, 2022, the Gwinnett County Board of Education (BOE) appointed principals for three schools—Dacula High School; Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology; and Pharr Elementary School. The newly named principals are:

  • Jeanne “Jeannie” Hidalgo has been named the principal of Dacula High School. Hidalgo currently serves as associate principal at Dacula High School. She assumes her new position as Dr. Bryan Long transfers to serve as a cluster superintendent in School Improvement and Operations.
  • Logan Malm, currently director of Science (K-5) in Curriculum and Instructional Support, has been named the new principal at Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology. She replaces IV Bray, who is retiring.
  • Shamarlas Allens, an assistant principal at Peachtree Ridge High School, has been named the principal at Pharr Elementary School. Dr. Allens steps into the leadership position at Pharr, succeeding Joe Sanfilippo.
