Dr. Watts speaking at the Custodian of the Year Ceremony

On May 7, the GCPS Environmental Services Department hosted its Custodial Awards Ceremony, recognizing the district’s custodial team members. This year’s event was held at the J. Alvin Wilbanks Instructional Support Center Board Room and was followed by a reception for award recipients. Superintendent Dr. Calvin J. Watts, members of the GCPS Board of Education, and the GCPS Leadership team attended the ceremony. Dr. Watts honored the recipients with his words of gratitude for the major part that they play in creating a safe and welcoming environment for our learners and staff at all our schools throughout the county. To be considered for this prestigious award, nominees are evaluated on the exemplary care of their school building, and graded on custodial staff development, custodial work schedules, policy and procedure compliance, and custodial equipment management. Hearty congratulations to all our custodial award recipients, and kudos on a job well done!
