The Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) Foundation has been awarded a $3,333 Arts Education Program Grant by the Georgia Council for the Arts. This grant will benefit GCPS schools by funding innovative arts initiatives and supporting workshops, performances, and hands-on activities that engage students in creative expression.

“We are so thankful that the Georgia Council for the Arts approved our grant proposal,” says Aaron Lupoloff, Senior Executive Director of the GCPS Foundation. “This grant is a testament to our shared commitment to fostering creativity, enriching students’ lives, and ensuring access to high-quality arts experiences. We believe a well-rounded education extends beyond academics, and the arts play a pivotal role in nurturing creativity, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence.”

The Georgia Council for the Arts promotes and supports the arts by providing funding, resources, and programs that enrich communities and enhance the quality of life for all Georgians. “Receiving this grant underscores GCPS’ unwavering commitment to fostering creativity and artistic growth among our students,” GCPS Director of Fine Arts David DuBose shares.  “We are proud to champion the arts and provide our students with transformative experiences. We could not do it without the help and support of the GCPS Foundation and organizations like the Georgia Council for the Arts.”

Arts education programs receiving funding through the Arts Education Program include afterschool and summer arts programs, arts integration and STEAM programs, and teaching artist residencies. Non-profit organizations, government entities, public libraries, schools, and colleges/universities can apply.

The grant request can range from $1,500 to $8,000, with a 50% match requirement.
