Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) has launched ParentSquare—a simple and unified school-to-home communication platform—to reach and engage every parent, helping ensure all parents can actively participate in their children’s education. ParentSquare is now available for staff and parents to use on their computers or mobile devices, providing a seamless experience for parents and staff. The communication tool’s intuitive, two-way platform will open the door to greater communication and family involvement.
GCPS’s chief engagement officer, Melissa Laramie, is excited about what ParentSquare brings. “We’re looking forward to reaching 100% of our families no matter where they are, unifying our communications tools, and adopting a more eco-friendly approach by reducing the amount of paper used to send important communications,” Ms. Laramie shares. “Parents can keep track of news, activities, and events from all their children’s schools in one place.”
ParentSquare opens the door for parents to enjoy photos posted by schools, fill out forms and permission slips, and review emails and posts from school and district leaders. It also enables school staff and parents to engage in one-to-one and group messaging with real-time language translation. “Effective school-to-home communication has never been more important, which is why GCPS adopted the ParentSquare communication platform,” Ms. Laramie says. “We believe our partnership with ParentSquare will help empower everyone within the school community to stay connected and informed.”
