On Tuesday, November 14, Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) Parent Mentors is hosting an informative and engaging workshop for parents of students who receive special education services in GCPS schools. Presented by Dawn Albanese, a parent mentor in the GCPS Special Education Department, "Navigating the Holidays and Avoiding Caretaker Fatigue," will provide tips, ideas, and strategies to help families navigate school breaks, social gatherings, and holiday traditions while emphasizing the importance of self-care in preventing caretaker fatigue. This session is recommended for parents of students at all grade levels, including elementary, middle, and high school. Although the holidays are meant to bring joy and celebration, they can also be a significant source of stress and anxiety. Parents may choose either an in-person or virtual session to attend.
