Gwinnett County Public Schools

The district welcomes your feedback on our working draft of the Strategic Plan. Since August 2021, Superintendent Dr. Watts has intentionally gathered feedback through meetings with school communities, students, staff members, families, and community leaders to build the district’s strategic plan, “Blueprint for the Future.” Specific teams, like the Transition and Planning Team, the design team for our Portrait of a Graduate, and the approximately 120 students are serving on our first Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council, have continued to meet this school year, working to provide Dr. Watts with detailed input shaping this new strategic plan. The “Blueprint for the Future” is also shaped by recent studies and builds upon the great work in GCPS , as we strategically plan for the next five years.

As Dr. Watts’ first year as superintendent comes to an end, before the strategic plan goes to our Gwinnett County Board of Education for review of the final draft at the June board meeting, Dr. Watts is asking for input from students, families, staff, and the community on the working draft of the Blueprint for the Future strategic plan. “We’re looking at how our schools can better serve the whole learner regarding what our students need to succeed academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally,” said Dr. Watts. “As we focus on addressing the needs of each and every GCPS student, we need to hear from you about our strategic plan, specifically, are there any areas that are not addressed by the goals and priorities that are critical to the future of GCPS over the next five years?”

You will find that the working draft document, available in English, Spanish, Mandarin, Korean and Vietnamese, includes four strategic priorities – empathy, equity, effectiveness, and excellence. Each of these priorities represents desired goals and objectives. They reflect what we have heard from our community over the last eight months and what we’ve heard from prior continuous improvement efforts in GCPS.

After reviewing the working draft of the Blueprint for the Future strategic plan, please click the link below to provide feedback. We appreciate your feedback; the survey will close at 11:00 pm on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. If you are a staff member who has already provided input through the staff survey, you are also welcome to participate in this survey.

Thank you for your participation and support of our GCPS students, staff, families, and communities. Your feedback will help shape the strategic direction of Gwinnett County Public Schools for the next five years.
