Gwinnett Online Campus (GOC) has been named a 2024 Brightspace Excellence Award Winner. The award recognizes educators who have used the Brightspace platform to deliver innovative, collaborative learning experiences or have made an extraordinary impact on learning outcomes. D2L, the EdTech company that created Brightspace, selected the GOC team for this honor because it demonstrated exemplary student engagement, staff efficiency, and social communication results.

     GOC leveraged the flexibility of the Brightspace platform to develop a blended instructional model through which teachers provide individual attention to each student. GOC implemented interactive, custom-designed interfaces that enabled students to access content by clicking on pictures rather than providing a list of options, ultimately improving student engagement with the educational material. GOC’s commitment to equity and accessibility helps ensure that students receive the necessary support, leading to widespread acclaim from students and parents.
