WHY:
- The Compost Connectors program provides students with hands-on learning of the full compost cycle- from collecting scraps and delivering to the bins to creating rich compost for garden beds- then planting, harvesting, and eating what they have grown.
- Students participating in the program have expressed enthusiasm for careers in agriculture.
- Composting lowers greenhouse gases by improving carbon sequestration in the soil and by preventing methane emissions
