GCPS students earned more than 40 awards, including the Pinnacle Award, last month at the 76th Georgia Science & Engineering Fair (GSEF). The Pinnacle Award is given to the top project in each division. In the middle school division, Sirish Subash of Crews Middle School earned the Pinnacle Award for his PestiSCAND: An AI-Based Handheld Pesticide Detector project. In the high school division, Rohan Kumar and William Susskind of Paul Duke STEM High School earned the Pinnacle Award for their project titled DoorBully: A System to Secure Schools Against Active Threats. This is the second year in a row that both the middle and the high school division Pinnacle Award honors were earned by GCPS students.
