On Tuesday, October 5, from 7:45 a.m. – 1:35 p.m., Maxwell High School of Technology will host a career fair for students in its Auto Services program. The school invited automotive-related companies and organizations from around metro Atlanta to speak to students about career options, earnings potential, and requirements for employment. Invited guests include dealerships, independent shops, parts suppliers, truck repair shops, equipment repair companies, forklift repair facilities, as well as technical colleges with Auto and Diesel programs.

Jeff Hall, the principal at Maxwell High, says the event allows students to explore career paths available to them. “This event affords students the opportunity to work directly with industry partners and their organizations,” Hall said. “Students will learn what it takes to enter the profession through direct conversations with individuals from the automotive industry and they will learn about career options, employment requirements, and the necessary steps they need to take to become employed in the industry.” 

Hall is proud of the school’s strong relationships with local companies. He adds, “Being so closely connected to industry allows students a first-hand look into all facets of a business operation,” Hall said. “We receive funding and supplies from industry that help make our programs thrive. We often have guest lecturers who work within the classrooms to help ensure students are ready for post-secondary education and the working world. We have a direct pipeline to employment with many companies, which is a huge win for Maxwell, industry, and our local economy.”
