Has your GCPS teen started driving?
In Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS), we understand the challenges of letting your teen "hit the road." National Teen Driver Safety Week, from October 15 to October 21, is a great time to share safe driving habits with teens who are new drivers.

- Distracted driving goes beyond texting and talking on a cell phone. Review Georgia's Hands-Free Law. (source: www.gahighwaysafety.org/hands-free-law/)
- More than 50% of drowsy driving crashes involves drivers ages 25 and younger. (source: https://www.ghsa.org/resources/drowsydriving16)
- Nearly two out of three crash deaths involving 16-year-old drivers happen when the driver has one or more teen passengers.
