Gwinnett County Public Schools

More than 22,000 Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) employees will soon have new spiritwear thanks to Peach State Federal Credit Union (Peach State FCU). Each GCPS employee will be issued a #TeamGCPS t-shirt as a means for them to show their spirit.

Marshall Boutwell, the President/CEO of Peach State FCU, says working with GCPS is a natural fit. “Peach State Federal Credit Union was founded 60 years ago by Gwinnett County Public Schools employees,” Boutwell said. “As an education-based credit union, we maintain a focus on education in everything that we do in order to honor that foundation. Supporting this endeavor is just one more way that we can demonstrate our commitment to education and to GCPS.”

Regarding this latest show of support, Superintendent Calvin J. Watts said, “We appreciate Peach State’s recognition of the work our staff members have done throughout the pandemic to support our students—academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally.”

Dr. Watts added, “These t-shirts are a symbol that although GCPS employees may work in different facilities and serve students in different ways, we are one team with one goal… to educate and care for our children by focusing on our core business of teaching and learning. Every one of us—no matter our role or location—is an important part of TeamGCPS! And we thank community partners like Peach State Federal Credit Union who, through their support of teaching and learning, proudly cheer on the members of TeamGCPS.”

Mr. Boutwell concurs, saying “GCPS employees have done a tremendous job throughout the pandemic and are to be commended for their dedication to the students. Their teamwork made it possible to overcome the challenges the pandemic presented and maintain their focus on educating and caring for their students during this unprecedented time.”
