On Tuesday, May 7, Maxwell High School of Technology, SkillsUSA, and its partners Lowe’s, State Farm, and Constellation will celebrate students pursuing careers in skilled trades. Ten Flight Operations Pathway students will be recognized for their hard work and dedication as they sign letters of intent to pursue skilled career paths. These students will also participate in the Lowe’s Foundation “Trades Stars” national campaign. Trades Stars is designed to celebrate students while making them feel like stars through “Blue Carpet Experiences.” Students will be interviewed, photographed, treated like celebrities, and mentioned in social media posts.
“We want to thank our community for supporting SkillsUSA National Signing Day,” says Dr. Jeff Hall, principal of Maxwell High School of Technology. “This program celebrates our career and technical education students and acknowledges their commitment to skilled career pathways. Signing Day and the Lowe’s Foundation Trades Stars campaign are powerful examples of programs that elevate the perception of skilled careers for the incredible opportunities they offer our students, both personally and professionally.”
