South Gwinnett High School’s business students win National Championship at the SuitUp Capgemini Multi Market Competition. Students took on the role of CEO for Capgemini and created a prototype for a teen–friendly app focused on financial literacy. The SuitUp Capgemini business competition took place in four cities across the country— New York City, Philadelphia, Chicago, and Atlanta— with the winning team from each region advancing to compete in the National Championship. After the judges deliberated, they decided the team that created the best teen-friendly financial literacy app was the Atlanta Market team. Each student was recognized with a certificate and a cash prize.
The National Championship winners are:

Special thanks to Nikki Williams and Savanah Hash for supporting this initiative.
South Gwinnett High School Career Academy Coach, Ms. Franchesca Thompson said, “We were so excited to represent Atlanta in this Multi-Market style competition. Participating in SuitUp competitions allows our students to connect what they are learning in the classroom to skills they will need to be ready to join the workforce.” SuitUp provides support by increasing career readiness for all students through innovative business plan competitions. Through these competitions, students experience solving a realistic corporate challenge, such as creating a new product or service. They have the opportunity to interact with corporate volunteers who coach them on marketing, design, financing, and strategy as well as professional core skills, before helping them pitch to judges for a cash prize. By the end of the experience, students have more insight about the corporate world and know that job titles, such as CEO, CFO, VP of Marketing, etc., are now within their grasp.
“Any time we get to work with students from South Gwinnett High School we are blown away. Their students are innovative, professional, and come ready to engage and learn from the corporate volunteers. I am so excited to see how each of these students take their leadership skills into the workforce,” said Dr. Sara Hill, SuitUp Programs Director.
