The following school highlights showcase how the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology (GSMST) is fulfilling Gwinnett County Public School's four strategic priorities of Empathy, Equity, Effectiveness, and Excellence.   • Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology (GSMST) was acknowledged by the Georgia Department of Education as a 2023 Advanced Placement (AP) Honor School in five categories: AP Humanities School, AP Humanities Achievement School, School of Distinction, AP Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)  School, and AP STEM Achievement School.
  • The Orchestra, Band, and Chorus programs received straight Superior ratings at the Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE) , sponsored by the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA).

  • GSMST led the state in SAT and ACT scores in 2022.

  • The Technology Student Association earned two second-place state titles in Digital Video Production and Music Production.

  • GSMST students excelled at the Gwinnett Regional Science Fair, the Georgia Science Fair, and the International Science Fair in 2023. The school celebrated 20 students who placed first at the Gwinnett Science Fair, the many student awards at the Georgia Science Fair, including the Pinnacle Grand Prize, and four students who advanced to the International Science Fair.

  • In addition to Science Fair experiences, students at GSMST are exposed to many opportunities to engage in scientific research. One graduate was named a 2023 Regeneron Science Talent Search Scholar by the Society for Science, and two students took first place in the Georgia Junior Science & Humanities Symposium for their work.

  • Twenty-five graduates were celebrated as National Merit Finalists and six graduates were honored as Questbridge Scholars, the most for any high school in Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS).

  • GSMST honored our Econ Challenge team as State Champions in the Adam Smith Division of the Economics Challenge, sponsored by the Georgia Council on Economic Education. The team advanced to the National Econ Challenge, where they successfully finished fourth place nationally.

  • 100% of students completed and passed the End of Pathway exam in Engineering. Students at GSMST have opportunities to experience CTAE courses and pathways in Computer Science, Game Design, Graphic Design, Audio Visual Technology, Engineering, and Biotechnology.

  • The GSMST Readers Rally team placed first in the District Readers Rally Championship.
