- Snellville Middle School is a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) school. PBIS encourages and recognizes positive student behaviors with various levels of recognition for students who exhibit appropriate school conduct.
- Snellville Middle School’s Junior Leadership Corps(JLC) has 280 student cadets in the program. JLC cadets competed in Raider and Drill meets across the district, finishing 1st or 2nd place in all events. The JLC Raider team scored in 2nd place overall in the annual county JLC Raider competition.
- Snellville Middle School 7th and 8th-grade students participated in the Trills and Thrills Six Flags Music Festival. The combined group of 7th and 8th-grade orchestra received Superior ratings and trophies for Ratings, Best In Show out of all performing groups that performed that day, and our Violin and Cello sections received awards for being the best outstanding sections!
- The Snellville Middle School Band program started a jazz band ensemble titled The Comet Swing Collab and a pep band ensemble this school year. The ensembles were comprised of 7th and 8th-grade band members and performed during the Black History Program, during the student/faculty basketball game, and during elementary school visits. The ensembles are scheduled to perform during home basketball games and other school events for the 2023-2024 school year.
- Snellville Middle School had one student who made the Georgia Music Educators Association District XIII Honor Band, and seven students participated in the Georgia Music Educators Association District XIII First Year Honor Band.
- Each and every student at Snellville Middle School participates in an extracurricular club offered during the school day. Snellville Middle offers over 40 clubs to students, such as Cosmetology, Anime, Robotics, Cooking and STEM.
- Snellville Middle hosted our first-ever STEM day event for 6th graders. 6th-grade students spent the day working alongside a NASA engineer building solar-powered cars. The day culminated with students racing their solar-powered cars at the end of the day.
- The Snellville Middle School Band program received Superior ratings on stage performance and sight-reading at the Georgia Music Educators District XIII Large Group Performance Evaluation.
- Several Snellville Middle School 6th Grade Orchestra students participated in the Gwinnett County 6th Grade Honor Orchestra. Students selected to participate in this event are the top performers in their orchestra class.
