  • Baggett Elementary School was awarded the Gold (Georgia Outdoor Learning Demonstration) Grant in the amount of $5,000, which led to the establishment of the Small Fry to Go Program, where students twice annually raise trout from their egg stage to the small fry trout stage before releasing them to the Chattahoochee River.
  • Baggett Elementary School expanded its partnership with the Alliance Theatre, where teaching artists engaged with our students and teachers in Kindergarten and 1st grade to grow teacher capacity to introduce content and to assess student learning through theater arts.
  • Baggett Elementary School expanded its art offerings by establishing a full-time dance program and additional music offerings for all K-5th grade students.
  • Baggett Elementary expanded its extra-curricular offerings by redeploying an athletic program that established four basketball teams, a cheerleading team, and a dance/step team.
  • Baggett Elementary was awarded the Compost Connector Grant through Green and Healthy Schools, which resulted in the addition of a 3-bin compost system used by students in their Project-Based Learning activities.
  • 3rd-5th grade students at Baggett Elementary had an opportunity to participate in a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, The Arts, and Mathematics) musical, Blast Off! which was performed in partnership with Discovery High School and Gwinnett School of Math, Science, and Technology.
  • Baggett Elementary School experienced a significant decrease in behavior infractions/concerns over the course of the school year due to a focus on social-emotional well-being for all.
  • Through multiple grant awards, Baggett Elementary School increased our science resources by acquiring an aquaponics system for raising fish and plants in a symbiotic relationship.
  • All K-5th grade Baggett Elementary School students participated in STEAM Informances each semester to share with other students and community members the knowledge that they gained during their 4-6 week long STEAM Project-Based Learning (PBL) activities.
  • Baggett is a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) school. PBIS encourages positive behaviors with recognition for students who exhibit appropriate school conduct.
